Check out this mix between Katy Perry and Vicetone. Brought to you by Kasum, we get an amazingly fun, fast beat that is guaranteed to make your party, ride to work, or veg-out session at home more enthralling.

The driving force of this mashup is absolutely Vicetone. Their heavy beats, their high energy transitions take over the airwaves, causing you to have an eargasm that is unstoppable. Katy Perry, she is just a famous name that somewhat compliments this mix.

While, yes, the overlay is great, the transitions work nicely, and the voices don’t fight for the spotlight, I just think that Katy kind of kills the vibe for the mix. That being said, who would Kasum have used in Katy’s stead? Exactly, there isn’t one that jumps to mind.

My favorite aspect of this mashup is the slow build at the beginning. Vicetone is an artist I have never heard of before this mashup, and Kasum was able to sell me on their music within the first 45 seconds. Thanks for the new beats!

Overall, this mash has great energy. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it over and over again on my phone and in my office while I am doing other work. Great mashup!

A mashup of We Found Love, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and Somebody I Used to Know. This mashup is brought to us from DJ Santo. Been a while since we have reviewed one form him, but I have to say, I am happy with this mashup.

This mashup is fantastic for those of you who want a little party pre-game mix, even a little pump up in the car on the way to the gym or a sporting event. The reason I say that is because of the attitude and tone that this bad boy brings to the mix. A perfect example of this is at 1:08. When the bass drops and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” kicks in, I definitely started dancing in my chair.

I know that most people will want to critique this song as say that “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is actually a negative to this song. While initially, I thought it was too, after listening to the song a second time, I was definitely proven wrong. It’s actually impressive how well it flows into the upbeat, bass bumping musical flow of “We Found Love” and “Somebody I Used To Know”.

The timing, transistions, and pace of this mashup are fantastic, therefore I have nothing to critique there. This mashup is just an all around well done piece of work. I highly recommend this song for every iPod out there.

Check out this awesome beat from Rage Cannon. A mix of Dada Life, Clark Kent, and Party Ghost.

This mashup has some crazy ass bass, so I suggest getting your best headphones or plugging into a real sound system to get the true experience.

This mashup is all about the dirty, glitch-like dubstep. If high energy and pounding beats are what you are into, this is definitely a good mashup to listen to.

What I wished happened more though were some crazy break downs and some heavy bass drops. While there are certainly moments of pure awesomeness, there is not really a moment that you will say to yourself was the “climax” point. The closest we get to one of these points is at ….

If you were looking to mix it up at your party, this would definitely be a good song, but if you are having just a normal party where hip-hop is the genre of music being played, this mashup would not fit in at all. By no means is this a negative thing. In fact, I appreciate the fact that this beat is actually not able to be played at all times. This song will always stay unique to the situation in which it can be played.

Out of all songs that Rage Cannon has submitted, this is up there for one of his best. I would have to say that Rage Cannon is definitely improving in his craft.

Keep it up man, look forward to hearing more. Oh…my favorite part, its so small, I bet most people miss it, but towards the end there is a very distinct sound that happens. It’s only once (from what I can remember), but it is epic.

Can’t figure out what it is? Think Super Mario Bros. for the last 45 seconds of the song and you will hear it.

Check out this mashup coming from Bayne & Y-so-Serial. This mashup is a nice little mix of Will.I.Am-Scream & Shout x Thumbs up (The Hi-Yahs Remix) x Feed The Dada (Y-So-Serial Mash).

If you have been looking for a song with lots of energy, this is the mashup that I suggest you listen to. This mashup has a great beat that is loud, in your face, and at time even a little too intense…yeah, I didn’t think it was possible, but I was obviously wrong.

What really blows me away about this mashup is just the simple fact that we get so much energy in one song. We start out with a soft little kick and snare bit, with a light drizzling of bass and some “screaming”. Then there is a slight bass drop and your speakers will start to bounce.

I am really impressed with the smoothness of transitions, I honestly couldn’t tell you where things started and stopped, everything seemed to have its appropriate place and time to be banging through the speakers.

What is also impressive to me is hat this beat doesn’t favor any of the songs that are used to make it. Every lyrics, ever beat has its time to shine which makes this mashup very well rounded.

My favorite part of the entire mashup starts at 1:43. Just a fantastic intertwining of everything. Loud, in your face, rocking energy that doesn’t stop till the end of the song.

This song will have you moving, guaranteed…

The first original single by Malignate ft. The Tazz – an attempt to blend electro dance genres this track is more of an experiment.

For the first original, this little beat was definitely impressive. The beginning of this song is just like every other club beat out there. Sorry, it is just hard to make something original that has been done so many times. Now, not to say that its bad, I really enjoyed the build up, especially since the drop went into some piano music. That was original and unexpected (from my end).

What I really like most about this beat is the piano aspect. I agree with some of the people who have commented on the cloud when they say that the piano is a beautiful aspect. The soft progression of notes goes great with the bass bumping. In my opinion though, could have been a little heavier on the bass. It would sound better in my car

A small thing that I only noticed my third time listening to the song was the start of the kick and snare at 1:55. Who knew such a small piece of music could add so much to a great mix.

When the beat gets to the heavy synthesized section, I expect most listeners to feel right at home. The transition is flawless and the rhythm and melody are phenomenal.

To quote one listener:

I dig this track!!!! top quality sounds, mixdown, overall production.great piano melody and massive energy in the drums… I like the drop!! with some strike vocals upon.. it’s ready to be a banger man!

This beat is off the chain. Thanks to RubeRx for creating this amazing mashup. If you are looking for a mashup that you could use as your next “Pump Up” mix, this is the one for you.

This mashup brings so much energy to the room. I hooked this bad boy up to my speakers and blew the doors off my house. The slow build, the stops and drops are all awesome. I love the heavy bass beats throughout this mashup the most. They make me think that I am doing something epic, even though I am just writing a review.

I really have nothing negative to say about this mashup. The BPM is beautiful, the atmosphere is mesmerizing, the drops are satisfying, and the song comes to an amazing climax and conclusion.

I even fully appreciate the female vocals, which sometimes I have a hard time getting into. This mashup, for me, is an all around win.

Great job RubeRx! Your ability to bring together Carnage & Borgore – Incredible (Original Mix)
NERVO and Hook N Sling – Reason (Acappella) is amazing. Keep it up!

Hey everyone, check out this mashup from Rumney! The song is called Lost In Au Love and it features a mix of music from Julio Bashmore – Au seve, The Real Thing – You too me are everything, Redlight – Lost in your love.

This mashup is a new sound for me. I am not one to proactively go search for mashups that have the 80′s pop-love theme to it. This is definitely a mashup for a unique area of the mashup community.

The song starts out with an upbeat tempo, something that most people will find enjoyable and easy to listen to. Once the “Lost in your love” lyrics kick in is when we get that 80′s feel.

I do have some issues with some of the transitions. For instance, at 1:28, there is too much going on, the “record scratching” is so obvious that it become the focal point of that section and it throws off the rest of the music.

My biggest issue with this mashup is that it gets to be very repetitive. Once you have heard the first half of the song, you might as well turn it off because it is essentially the same till the end.

So as a suggestion, for future mashups, try to add as much as you can to the mashup that is new, exciting, and unexpected. This will insure that your listeners will want to keep listening because they want to know what is coming next. If you or someone else can predict the next step in the song, you have failed as a DJ.

While this is positive energy in this mashup, this mash could take some more interesting lyrical weaving and some more exciting beats.

What’s up everyone, check out this sweet little funk mashup. The title, “Going Back To The Funk” suits this mashup perfectly. This mashup is all about the funky beat that gets your hips rocking back and forth.

What it really awesome about this mashup is that it takes us back in time. This mashup is a great throw back that is sure to get people “singing/rapping” along with the lyrics. In addition to the funk base, we do get sprinkles of dubstep which brings the old into the new.

I have said it before and I will say it again, mashups are meant to bring the old and tired songs back to life by adding new twists and turns, new beats, and new approaches to music that couldn’t have been imagined until now.

Swanky Fox Productions nails it here by reviving an old song and making it relevant to the world of music today.

Some critiques of the song though are:

It is very repetitious. The lyrics for the song “Going Back to Cali” are old and tiresome. That’s why no one listens to the song anymore. So when the song is played today, the listener wants to hear a change, instead of expecting the same old stuff.

I do find myself getting tired of the song toward the end. I lose my interest because I am not experiencing anything new that makes me want to stay tuned. My suggestion for a future mashup is to continue innovating through out the song, not just in a few select places. The dubstep is beautiful, so the beat is rejuvenated, but find a way to make the lyrics more interesting.

Overall, I give this track my approval, I just think there is more that could be done!

Hey everyone, check out this mashup coming from Edward Dunne, Dope Ass Dadi! I have a slight suggestion, make sure you crank the music for this one.

This mashup comes at you with the fire of hell and doesn’t hold back. While, I know this mashup is not going to be for everyone, I think many of you will appreciate it. This mashup is not the usual mashup that gets featured here. This one is a little crazy and very unpredictable which I really like.

My positives for this mashup are many, so let’s get into it. I love the attitude that this mashup brings to the table. Fast, loud, excited, and even triumphant. This mashup is meant to inspire some crazy, body flopping dancing. This mashup with absolutely get you throwing your hands up in the air. I really like that this mashup has a “chorus” that it goes back to, it provides for some point where we all can get back to the familiar and rock out like crazy.

My favorite part of the mashup is the heavy bass that rocks my head ever so gently. Freaking awesome.

Now, while this mashup has some great moments, there are also a couple areas where I definitely am not feeling the beat. What am I talking about? Go to :44.

This lady’s vocals DO NOT work with the beat. If you listen to it even partially paying attention, you can tell that her vocals (and her back up vocals) are not in the same key as the beat. This causes what I like to call “tone war”. Each one is fighting for the forefront of the song and end up making the beat sound awful! What I like though is that it eventually flows back into some awesome “scratch” like mixing (see 2:00).

Overall, I have to say, this mashup is a good one. It blows my headphones out and it makes my head bob up and down, so I like it. There is the annoying “tone war” that happens every once in a while, but its not so bad that I want to turn the song off. The worst part about the female vocals isn’t even that it fights with the music, its that it sucks the energy out of the song.

Comment, share, and come back for more mashups!

If You Jinglin’ by DJ McFly is a Christmas mashup with songs by Jay-Z. DJ McFly is a really good mashup producer. He uploaded this song a year ago, but I noticed it had never featured on the site. I like the beat and the songs match really well. Enjoy:
